Charminar Locked Down? Major Traffic Restrictions in Place for Miss World 2025
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced major traffic restrictions around the Charminar area today from 2 PM to 11 PM, in view of the 72nd Miss World 2025 Heritage Walk and the Welcome Dinner at Chowmahalla Palace.

Roads Closed for Vehicular Movement from 2 PM to 11 PM
To ensure security and smooth conduct of the international event, all types of vehicular traffic will be restricted on the following routes:
- Madina to Charminar
- Charminar to Shalibanda
- Shalibanda (Rajesh Medical Hall) to Volga Junction
- Volga Junction to Moosabowli via Khilwat Road
Alternative Routes and Diversions Announced
The Hyderabad police have arranged several traffic diversions to manage the congestion and maintain order:
- Traffic from Nayapul to Charminar will be diverted at Madina Junction towards City College.
- Traffic from Nagulchintha/Shalibanda towards Charminar will be diverted at Himmatpura Junction towards Hari Bowli and Volga Junction.
- Traffic from Himmatpura will not be allowed towards Chowmahalla Palace and will be diverted to Volga Junction–Fateh Darwaza Road.
- Traffic from Fateh Darwaza will be diverted towards Himmatpura, and vice versa.
- Vehicles from Chowk Maidan towards Charminar will be diverted at Chowk Maidan towards Kotla Alija or Moghalpura.
TSRTC Bus Services Affected
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has made the following changes for city and district buses:
- City buses towards Charminar will terminate at Afzalgunj.
- Buses from Falaknuma to Charminar will be diverted at Shamsheergunj towards Tadban.
- District buses via Nayapul, Madina from MGBS/Imlibun will be rerouted through:
- Chaderghat Rotary → Nalgonda X Road → Chanchalguda Junction → Saidabad T Junction → I.S. Sadan → DMRL Junction → Midhani Junction → MBNR Flyover → Bandlaguda → Aramghar

Public Advised to Plan Travel Accordingly
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has requested the public to avoid the restricted areas and use alternative routes during the affected hours. Citizens attending the Miss World event or visiting nearby areas are advised to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel.
