Rangareddy Tragedy: Two Children Missing Near Kesi Thanda Pond Found Dead in Maheshwaram
Two minor children who went missing near Kesi Thanda pond in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy district were found dead after an overnight rescue operation. Police investigation is underway.
A tragic incident was reported from Kesi Thanda village under the jurisdiction of Maheshwaram Police Station in Rangareddy district, Telangana. Two minor boys went missing after leaving their homes and were later found dead in a nearby pond, sending shockwaves across the village.

According to local residents, the children had gone together towards a pond located close to Kesi Thanda on Tuesday evening and failed to return home.
Details of the Missing Children
The missing children were identified as:
- Rishi (6), son of Jatavath Ramesh
- Badrinath (8), son of Jatavath Shankar
Both children were residents of Kesi Thanda village in Maheshwaram mandal, Rangareddy district.
After the boys did not return, worried family members and villagers alerted the police, suspecting that they may have accidentally slipped into the pond.
Search Operation at Kesi Thanda Pond
Upon receiving the information, CI Venkateshwarlu of Maheshwaram rushed to the spot along with police staff and fire department personnel. A large-scale search operation was launched at the pond near Kesi Thanda.
The fire department rescue team carried out intensive search operations in the pond. Due to the absence of trained swimmers, local youth from the thanda also stepped forward to assist the rescue team. SI Raghavendra and police personnel remained at the spot till midnight, closely monitoring the rescue efforts.
Bodies Recovered in Early Morning
The search resumed early in the morning, and at around 7:00 AM, the bodies of both children were recovered from the pond near Kesi Thanda.
The bodies were shifted to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem examination. Maheshwaram CI Venkateshwarlu stated that complete details would be known after the post-mortem and further investigation.
Village in Mourning After Rangareddy Incident
The tragic deaths of the two children have left Kesi Thanda and surrounding areas in deep mourning. Villagers have urged authorities to take precautionary measures near open water bodies to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation.
