GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan urges CURE residents to utilise the OTS Scheme offering a 90% interest waiver on property tax arrears before the March 31 deadline.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan has appealed to property taxpayers in the CURE region to utilise the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, which offers a 90% waiver on interest for pending property tax dues. The OTS scheme for property tax in Hyderabad will remain valid until March 31, and citizens have been encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

Speaking at a press conference at the GHMC Head Office in Hyderabad, the Commissioner said the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for property tax is designed to help taxpayers clear their long-pending dues with significant financial relief.

90% Interest Waiver Under OTS Scheme

Under the GHMC One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, property taxpayers can receive a 90% rebate on interest on pending property tax arrears.

Commissioner Karnan urged residents of the CURE area, which includes GHMC, MMC, and CMC jurisdictions, to clear their dues before the March 31 deadline.

Key highlights of the OTS Scheme

  • 90% waiver on interest for property tax arrears
  • Scheme valid until March 31
  • Applicable to taxpayers in CURE region including GHMC, MMC, and CMC areas
  • Opportunity to clear long-pending property tax dues

The GHMC Commissioner emphasized that property owners should utilise the OTS scheme before the deadline to avoid further penalties.

Property Tax Collection Sees Increase

Commissioner Karnan revealed that property tax collections in the CURE area have shown significant growth during the current financial year.

  • Total taxpayers in CURE area: 28.08 lakh
  • Taxpayers who have already paid: 16.80 lakh

He stated that ₹2,186 crore has been collected so far in the current financial year, compared to ₹1,984 crore collected by the same time in the previous year.

The increase in collections reflects improved compliance and effective tax awareness campaigns by GHMC.

Online Platforms Available for Property Tax Payments

To ensure transparency and convenience, GHMC has enabled online property tax payments through multiple digital platforms.

Residents can pay their property tax through the following services:

  • GHMC Website: www.ghmc.gov.in
  • MyGHMC Mobile Application
  • MeeSeva Centres
  • Citizen Service Centres

In addition to tax payments, services such as property assessment, corrections, and other related services are also available through the MyGHMC application.

GHMC Warns of Action Against Defaulters

Commissioner Karnan warned that strict action will be taken under the GHMC Act against property owners who fail to clear their long-pending tax dues.

Authorities have intensified awareness campaigns across the CURE region to encourage residents to benefit from the OTS scheme before the deadline.

Public Awareness Campaign Intensified

With only 15 days remaining for the OTS scheme deadline, GHMC has launched large-scale awareness campaigns across Hyderabad.

Awareness efforts include:

  • Publicity at 100 bus shelters across the city
  • Special awareness videos and audio messages
  • Broadcast through cable TV channels, FM radio, and social media platforms
  • Grassroots awareness drives across wards and circles

These initiatives aim to ensure that property taxpayers across the CURE region take advantage of the OTS scheme and clear their dues before March 31.

Sanitation Drives Under Praja Palana Programme

Commissioner Karnan also highlighted that several special sanitation drives were conducted from March 6 to March 16 under the State Government’s “99 Days – Praja Palana, Pragathi Pranalika” initiative.

The drives were carried out across:

  • 6 GHMC zones
  • 30 circle offices
  • 150 wards

GHMC has also focused on removing Garbage Vulnerable Points and conducting a Mega E-Waste Drive, as part of efforts to make Greater Hyderabad a cleaner and healthier city.

The GHMC OTS Scheme offering a 90% interest waiver on property tax arrears in the CURE region provides a major opportunity for taxpayers to settle dues before March 31.
