Hyderabad: A complaint has been filed at Mirchowk Police Station in Hyderabad against BJP’s former Saroor Nagar corporator Akula Srivani Telangana Shia Waqf Welfare Association for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The complaint was submitted by members of the Buland Association, who demanded strict legal action over the controversial statements.

The issue has triggered strong reactions among members of the Shia community in Hyderabad’s Old City, who said the remarks were offensive and hurt religious sentiments.

Complaint Filed at Mirchowk Police Station

According to the complaint filed at Mirchowk PS, members of the Shia Welfare Association stated that Akula Srivani allegedly used objectionable language while speaking about Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Community representatives said the statements deeply hurt the sentiments of many people who respect the Iranian leader. They urged the police to register a formal FIR and initiate action under relevant legal provisions.

The complainants also met senior police officials and requested them to ensure that such statements do not disturb communal harmony.

Community Representatives Condemn the Remarks

During the complaint submission, representatives of the association said that disrespectful language against religious figures or leaders revered by people should not be tolerated.

They also pointed out that India is a democratic country where people of all religions and beliefs have the right to express grief or solidarity over global events affecting their communities.

According to the representatives, criticizing individuals in a derogatory manner can hurt social harmony and create unnecessary tensions.

The complainants have urged Hyderabad Police Commissioner and other senior officials to examine the matter carefully and take appropriate legal steps.

They emphasized that strict action would send a message that any form of hate speech or insulting remarks against respected personalities will not be tolerated in Hyderabad’s peaceful environment.

Community members also said that Hyderabad has always been known for its culture of harmony where people from different religions live together peacefully.

Call to Maintain Communal Harmony

Community leaders appealed to the public to maintain calm and avoid spreading rumors or provocative content on social media regarding the controversy involving Akula Srivani and the remarks about Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

They reiterated that the matter is now with the police and should be handled through legal channels to ensure justice and maintain peace in the city.

Authorities are expected to review the complaint filed at Mirchowk Police Station and take necessary action after examining the allegations.
