Congress Government’s Investment Claims Are Fake and Misleading: Kalvakuntla Kavitha
Kalvakuntla Kavitha has accused the Congress government of making fake investment claims in Telangana, questioning MoUs, rising crime in Hyderabad, and lack of funds in the Union Budget.

Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruti, strongly criticised the Congress government, alleging that its claims of attracting massive investments into Telangana are fake and misleading. She made these remarks while addressing a press conference at the Telangana Jagruti office in Banjara Hills.

Kavitha said the government is misleading the public by announcing thousands of crores worth of MoUs without any solid proof on the ground.
Questions Raised Over MoUs and Companies
Kavitha alleged that several companies mentioned in the MoUs do not even have proper websites or a clear record of business activity. She said investigations have revealed serious doubts about the existence and credibility of many such firms.
She urged the youth of Telangana to launch a strong public campaign using the hashtag “Congress Fake MoUs” to expose what she called the truth behind these claims.
Concern Over Fires and Rising Crime in Hyderabad
The Telangana Jagruti president also expressed serious concern over repeated fire accidents and the rising crime rate in Hyderabad. She said many lives were lost in recent fire incidents, yet Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s silence on these issues is disappointing.
According to Kavitha, in the last one year alone, Hyderabad witnessed 69 murder cases and 176 attempted murder cases. She also highlighted growing concerns over women’s safety and the increase in gun-related crimes. She criticised the government’s lack of response to incidents like the attack on excise constable Soumya and demanded weapons for excise and forest department staff for their protection.
Attack on Leadership-Based Voting Appeal
Kavitha criticised K. T. Rama Rao’s statement asking voters to support candidates only by looking at party leadership. She said asking for votes without considering a candidate’s capability reflects an authoritarian mindset.
She stressed that votes should be based on a candidate’s honesty, ability, and commitment to public service, not caste, religion, money, or family connections.
Strong Criticism of Union Budget
Targeting the Union Budget, Kavitha said the BJP has once again disappointed the people of Telangana. She pointed out that despite Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman being from a Telugu family, Telangana received nothing significant in the budget.
She said allocating not even one percent of the total ₹53 lakh crore budget to education and health is completely unjust. Promises made during the state’s bifurcation remain unfulfilled even after 12 years, and none of the 47 demands placed by the state were approved.
Major Projects Ignored
Kavitha alleged that key projects like Urban Development works, Regional Ring Road, Metro Phase-2, IIM, Navodaya and Kendriya Vidyalayas, Bayyaram Steel Plant, and the Coach Factory were completely ignored.
She questioned how companies claiming investments worth ₹1 lakh crore can be trusted when their total market value itself is much lower. Telangana Jagruti, she said, will soon release full details of such companies on social media.
Demand for Probe Into Phone Tapping Case
Concluding the press conference, Kavitha demanded a fast and transparent investigation into the phone tapping case, stating that no one is above the law. She alleged that the Congress government is deliberately delaying the probe.
She warned that if BRS does not change its authoritarian and royal style of functioning, it will not survive. Kavitha also announced that Telangana Jagruti will restart its Janma Bata programme after February 20 and continue its fight on public issues.
