Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday expressed strong confidence that the Congress party will remain in power in Telangana for at least eight more years, backed by its growing public support and consistent electoral victories.

Speaking to the media after casting his vote along with his wife and Kodad MLA N. Padmavathy Reddy in Kodad town, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress is also set for an overwhelming victory in the next Assembly elections.
Strong Congress Hold in Telangana, Says Minister
Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that with a guaranteed win in the next Assembly elections, the Congress government will focus on transforming Telangana into one of the top-performing states in the country and restoring its past glory.
He said the results of the ongoing municipal elections in Telangana will further strengthen the Congress party’s position and clearly reflect the people’s trust in the government.
Municipal Elections to Be a Historic Milestone
According to the minister, the Congress party’s winning streak, which began with the December 2023 Assembly elections, has continued through:
- Gram Panchayat elections
- Secunderabad Cantonment elections
- MLC elections
- Jubilee Hills by-election
- Parliamentary elections
He said the municipal election outcome will be another historic milestone, adding to the Congress party’s growing list of electoral successes in Telangana.
Congress to Win Over 90% Urban Local Bodies
Citing polling trends across the state, Uttam Kumar Reddy predicted that the Congress will win more than 90 percent of the urban local bodies. He added that the party is heading towards a near clean sweep in 123 urban local bodies, including seven municipal corporations.

The minister dismissed the opposition’s campaigns as baseless, stating that no political party currently stands as a serious rival to the Congress in Telangana. He said the consistent victories clearly show a positive wave in favour of the Congress government.
