Cyberabad Drunk Driving Drive: 243 Offenders Caught in Weekend Crackdown

Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 243 offenders in a weekend drunk driving drive, booking cases across vehicle types and warning of strict legal action.

In a major enforcement action, the Cyberabad drunk driving drive led to 243 offenders being apprehended during a weekend crackdown. The special operation was conducted to curb road accidents and ensure public safety across key routes.

Officials confirmed that all offenders booked in the Cyberabad drunk driving cases will be produced before the court.

Vehicle-Wise Breakdown of Cases

According to traffic authorities, cases were registered across different vehicle categories:

  • 189 two-wheelers
  • 13 three-wheelers
  • 40 four-wheelers
  • 1 heavy vehicle

The drive focused on high-risk zones and late-night checkpoints.

Blood Alcohol Levels Recorded

The BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) analysis showed varying levels among offenders:

  • 207 offenders: 36 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml
  • 24 offenders: 201 mg/100 ml to 300 mg/100 ml
  • 12 offenders: 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml

Authorities said strict monitoring will continue to deter repeat violations.

Cyberabad Police reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence. If an intoxicated driver causes a fatal accident, they can be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which carries:

  • Up to 10 years imprisonment
  • Monetary fine

Court Disposals in Recent Cases

In recent enforcement outcomes:

  • 236 cases were disposed in courts
  • 9 offenders received jail and fine
  • 6 offenders were assigned social service
  • 221 offenders paid fines

The Cyberabad drunk driving enforcement drive is part of ongoing efforts to reduce accidents and promote responsible driving. Police urged citizens to avoid drinking and driving and to use safe transport options.
