Hyderabad: U.S.-based AI education platform EdTalkies on Wednesday presented its vision for transforming digital learning in India, emphasizing a teacher-centric approach to artificial intelligence aimed at improving classroom outcomes and bridging the rural–urban digital divide.
During a media interaction with national and regional journalists in Hyderabad, the company highlighted how digital education in India has evolved—from nearly 20% adoption before COVID-19 to around 70% during the pandemic, and stabilising at nearly 55% today as hybrid learning becomes more common.
However, EdTalkies noted a significant gap between urban and rural access, with urban adoption ranging between 70–85%, while rural regions lag behind at 30–45%, mainly due to limited internet connectivity, lack of devices, and lower digital literacy.
Founder and CEO Ram Alladi said the platform is designed to “strengthen the role of teachers, not replace them,” adding that the goal is to ensure students can continue structured learning beyond classroom hours.
EdTalkies enables teachers to generate curriculum-aligned lessons, assessments, and explanations instantly, while offering students personalised academic support based on grade and subject requirements. The platform also uses low-bandwidth, mobile-first solutions, including WhatsApp-based access, to reach learners in resource-constrained regions.
During the session, the company demonstrated its AI Teacher interface, allowing journalists to experience how educators can create structured academic content using the platform in real time.
EdTalkies is currently exploring pilot programs with schools and institutions to assess the impact of AI on teacher productivity, student engagement, and learning outcomes.
The company said its initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), focusing on inclusive and equitable access to education.
As India continues to expand its digital education ecosystem, EdTalkies said it advocates a balanced model that combines traditional teaching methods with AI-powered tools.
“The future of education is not AI replacing teachers, but AI enabling teachers to do more, reach further, and teach better,” Ram Alladi added.
