Four held for manufacturing & selling spurious ginger-garlic paste

Hyderabad: Sleuths of Task Force, Central Zone team, along with local police laid a trap at Patigadda under Begumpet PS and apprehended one Panduranga Rao of Begumpet and found adulterated/noxious ginger and grlic paste illegally selling to public.

The police raided the adulterating manufacturing and trading den at Upperpally and apprehended its owner Raheem Charaniya (Proprietor of Deccan traders) and also raided two shops at Begum Bazar, apprehended marketing agents Ajay Kumar Aheer (Proprietor of Telangana Agency), Pradeep Sankla (Proprietor of Nikil Traders).

The accused indulged in adulterating ginger and garlic paste and marketing as genuine product in cheating manner. The sleuths seized huge quality of adulterated material along with spurious components, chemicals, packing, sealing machines and so on.

Police said the prime accused Raheem Charaniya, native of Gujarat, migraed to Hyderabad and settled at Begumpet, Secunderabad. He is trading on the name of Messrs Deccan Traders.

He illegally established manufacturing factory at Upperpally and started manufacturing adulterate ginger, garlic paste by using undisclosed/unnamed chemical, red powder, citric acid, spurious components and supplying to various General Kirana stores as genuine product and was gaining huge profits. He engaged agents like Panduranga Rao of Begumpet, Ajay Kumar Aheer and Pradeep Sankla of Begum Bazar and through them trading adulterated ginger and garlic paste.

He was also supplying adulterate material in and around Telangana and other States. On February 27 evening, the accused along with seized material were handed over to SHO, Begumpet PS. The police registered a case Cr.No.123/2024 under Sections 272, 273, 336 and 420 IPC of Begumpet PS.
