Hyderabad: In a major GHMC bribery case in Hyderabad, officials of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a GHMC examiner red-handed while accepting a ₹35,000 bribe at the Secunderabad Zonal Office. The accused official allegedly demanded money from a complainant to process and forward a retirement benefits file.

GHMC Examiner Arrested in ACB Bribe Trap

According to officials, the accused has been identified as Surya Vamsi Santosh, who was working as an Examiner in the Accounts Section of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Secunderabad Zonal Office.

  • Allegedly demanded ₹40,000 bribe from a complainant
  • Promised to process and forward the retirement benefits file to the GHMC head office
  • Agreed to accept ₹35,000 as part of the illegal payment

The complainant approached the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau, which then initiated a trap operation.

Following the complaint, the ACB team laid a trap and caught the GHMC examiner red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
