Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched its Doorstep Old Mattresses & Furniture Pickup Service, offering residents a free doorstep pickup facility for old mattresses and unwanted furniture. Announcing the initiative on X, GHMC urged citizens not to dump bulky waste on streets or in nalas and instead use the new service to ensure responsible recycling and help keep Hyderabad clean and sustainable.

GHMC Asks Citizens Not to Dump Bulky Waste
In its public appeal, GHMC said:
“Got an old mattress or unwanted furniture at home? Don’t dump it—it doesn’t belong on our streets or in our nalas. Let GHMC pick it up!”
The civic body said the initiative aims to prevent bulky waste from being dumped in public places and drainage channels.
Free Doorstep Pickup Service Now Live
GHMC announced that its Doorstep Old Mattresses & Furniture Pickup Service is now LIVE.
Residents can avail the facility by scanning the QR code shared by GHMC and booking a FREE doorstep pickup for old mattresses and furniture.
According to GHMC, only mattresses and furniture will be accepted under the service.
