The GHMC Special Sanitation Drive is continuing at full pace across Hyderabad, with intensified cleaning operations aimed at improving city cleanliness and public spaces. On the third day of the drive, sanitation teams carried out focused cleaning along roadsides, dividers, kerbs, and central medians, significantly enhancing the city’s overall appearance.

Sanitation Drive Covers All GHMC Wards

So far, the special sanitation drive has covered 316 locations across all 300 GHMC wards, reflecting city-wide implementation. Along with regular daily sanitation work, the drive is focusing on clearing long-pending waste and debris from public areas.

342 Metric Tonnes of Waste Removed in Three Days

GHMC officials said that over the last three days, a large quantity of waste has been removed as part of the special drive.

Waste cleared includes:

  • 269 metric tonnes of municipal solid waste
  • 73 metric tonnes of construction debris
  • Total additional waste removed: 342 metric tonnes

This large-scale operation is helping to reduce garbage accumulation and improve hygiene across residential and commercial areas.

Senior Officials Monitoring on Ground

To ensure effective execution, Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners are supervising the sanitation drive directly at the field level. Their presence is aimed at maintaining quality, speed, and accountability in cleaning operations.

GHMC Appeals for Citizen Cooperation

GHMC has urged citizens to actively support the sanitation drive by following simple waste management practices:

1️⃣ Hand over waste only to Swachh Autos
2️⃣ Use dustbins and avoid littering
3️⃣ Segregate wet and dry waste at home

Officials said public participation is essential to sustain cleanliness efforts beyond the special drive.

Clean Hyderabad Mission Continues

GHMC reiterated its commitment to keeping Hyderabad clean through continuous field action and community participation. The special sanitation drive is part of ongoing efforts to improve urban hygiene, environmental health, and city aesthetics.
