Govt approves ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ as Telangana anthem: CM Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the song ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’ has been approved as the State anthem of Telangana.
The Chief Minister stated that to mark the the occasion of completion of ten years of Telangana State on June 2 this year, arrangements are being made to hold the Formation Day celebrations grandly and during the celebrations, the new Jaya Jayahe Telangana anthem will be dedicated to the nation.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Jupally Krishna Rao, Seethakka and Konda Surekha and other leaders, including AICC Telangana in-charge Deepadas Munshi, former MP V Hanumantha Rao, former minister Jana Reddy, MPs, MLAs and MLCs at the Secretariat on Thursday and disclosed the State government’s decision on the new anthem.
Apart from the ruling party leaders, TJS president Professor Kodandaram, poet Ande Sri, music director Keeravani, CPI MLA Kunamaneni Sambasivarao, CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadra were also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the song, which has become popular during the Telangana movement, has been accepted as the State anthem with the approval of all, so that it will be sung by future generations.
The song was penned by poet and writer Ande Sri 20 years ago and it was accepted as it is. Oscar Award winner Keeravani has composed the music for the song, he explained.
The Chief Minister stated that Jaya Jayahe Telangana song has been composed in two versions, in which a version with a length of 2.30 minutes and a full version with a length of 13.30 minutes.
He announced that there will be a short song of two and a half minutes length with three stanzas in full song so that it can be sung in government functions.
The Chief Minister disclosed that both version of songs will be considered as the State anthem. On the occasion, the song sung by a group of young singers led by Keeravani entertained everyone.
