High Court Grants Permission for BRS Youth Convention
The Telangana High Court delivered its order on a petition filed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) challenging the police decision denying permission for the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu.
The court permitted the convention to be held at Saroornagar Stadium on Saturday, subject to specified conditions.
Court Imposes Conditions on the Event
The High Court directed the BRS to:
- Conduct the meeting peacefully.
- Ensure there are no road blockades.
- Ensure speakers do not make provocative speeches.
The court made it clear that the permission is conditional and that these directions must be followed during the programme.
Government Cites Law and Order Concerns
During the hearing, the government counsel submitted that intelligence reports suggested the programme could lead to law-and-order problems.
The counsel also informed the court that there were inadequate parking arrangements near Saroornagar Stadium.
However, the High Court questioned the police for failing to take a decision for 17 days after the application was submitted.
The court also asked why the applicant had not been informed about any issues during that period.

KTR Welcomes High Court Order
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) welcomed the High Court’s decision.
He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s attempt to disrupt the convention and silence unemployed youth had failed.
According to KTR, while the Congress government denied permission for the event, the High Court upheld democratic rights.
In a post on X, KTR said:
“No matter how many obstacles Congress creates, BRS will continue to raise its voice on behalf of the youth.”
He appealed to young people to attend the convention and “expose Congress’ deceptions,” while calling for pressure on the government to fulfil its promises.
BRS Targets Congress Over Youth Declaration
The BRS chose Saroornagar Stadium as the venue because Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had unveiled the party’s Youth Declaration there ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
The BRS alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil the promises made to youth and unemployed people under its Youth Declaration.
KTR said students and unemployed youth continue to question the government’s inability to implement its pre-poll assurances.
The Telangana High Court has permitted the BRS to hold its Yuva Sangrama Sadassu at Saroornagar Stadium on Saturday, despite the earlier police denial, subject to conditions including maintaining peace and avoiding provocative speeches. The order came after the court questioned the delay in the police decision, while K.T. Rama Rao claimed the ruling upheld democratic rights and renewed the BRS attack on the Congress government over its promises to youth.
