Holi 2026 in Hyderabad: CP Issue Strict Guidelines, Liquor Shops Closed and Visible Policing Intensified

Hyderabad Police issued Holi 2026 guidelines with visible policing, liquor shop closure from 6 AM to 6 PM, and strict rules to ensure peaceful celebrations in the city.

Hyderabad: Ahead of Holi 2026 in Hyderabad, Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar urged citizens to celebrate the festival peacefully, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone causing inconvenience or disturbance.

The advisory focuses on maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and promoting responsible celebrations across the city.

Visible Policing Across the City

During a review meeting, the Commissioner directed officers to ensure strong security arrangements.

Key measures include:

  • Deployment of Blue Colts and patrolling teams across Hyderabad
  • Continuous monitoring to prevent untoward incidents
  • Coordination with peace committees in sensitive areas

Police teams have been instructed to remain alert throughout the celebrations.

Rules for Holi Celebrations

Authorities issued clear guidelines for residents:

  • Do not forcibly apply colors on unwilling persons
  • Avoid throwing colors on pedestrians or vehicles
  • Use natural colors instead of chemical ones
  • No permission for DJs during celebrations
  • Vehicles creating nuisance will be seized

SHE Teams will also monitor public places to prevent harassment and ensure women’s safety.

Special Measures During Ramadan

As Ramadan coincides with Holi, police stressed the need to avoid disturbance to prayers.

Additional security arrangements have been planned in areas with mosques and prayer gatherings.

Liquor Shops to Remain Closed

In a major announcement, police said:

  • Liquor shops, toddy compounds, and bars & restaurants will remain closed from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on March 3
  • Action will be taken against violations under the City Police Act

The move aims to prevent law and order issues during Holi celebrations.

Appeal to Citizens

Police urged residents to cooperate and report any issue through Dial 100, assuring swift response to maintain peace.
