Homeguard who attempted suicide succumbs to injuries in Hyderabad hospital

A 38-year-old home guard who attempted suicide on Sunday tragically passed away at a hospital while receiving treatment in the early hours of Friday.

Hyderabad: A 38-year-old home guard who attempted suicide on Sunday tragically passed away at a hospital while receiving treatment in the early hours of Friday.


The deceased has been identified as Ravinder. He attempted to take his own life by dousing himself in gasoline and setting himself on fire at his head office on Sunday, allegedly due to not receiving his salary.


Ravinder sustained severe injuries with 60 percent burns and was initially admitted to Osmania General Hospital, later being transferred to DRDO Hospital in Kancha Bagh for further treatment.


Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.


Ravinder, a resident of Uppuguda, was employed at the Chandrayangutta Traffic Police Station. He is survived by his wife and two children.
