Hyd police arrests remaining four members of 9-member dacoity gang
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone team, and Market police successfully arrested the remaining accused in the case.
Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the city police apprehended four additional members of a nine-member dacoity gang and seized eight gold biscuits (715 grams), one car, all worth about Rs 45 lakhs from their possession.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team, and Market police successfully arrested the remaining accused in the case.
The individuals apprehended include Amul Ganpathrao Jadhav (30) from Sangli District, Maharashtra, Rushikesh Vinodh Jadhav (25) from Kepe District, Goa State, Subham Vinodh Jadhav (28) from Kepe District, Goa State, and Sanjay Parusuram Jadhav (27) from Belgaum District, Karnataka State.
The incident leading to their arrest dates back to May 27, when a complaint was lodged by Vikas Khedekar (23), the manager of Siddi Vinayaka Shop in Pot Market, Secunderabad.
Khedekar reported that on the same day, around 1000 hours, five unidentified assailants entered
the shop and claimed to be IT officials by displaying their ID cards.
They forcibly took the workers’ mobile phones, threatened them with dire consequences, and then snatched 17 gold coins weighing approximately 100 grams each, totaling 1700 grams, valued at Rs 60 lakhs. The assailants locked the workers in a room and made their escape.
The dacoity gang consisted of nine members, namely Rahman Gafoor Athar, Zakir Ghani Athar, Praveen Yadav, Akash Arun Hovil, Abhijith Kumar Godike, Amol Ganapatry Jhadav (all from Maharashtra), Amol Ganpatrav Jhadav, Sidharath Jhadav Siddu, and Shubham Jhadav (all from Goa), and Sanjay Parsuram Jhadav (from Karnataka).
Earlier, four members of the gang were arrested on May 30, and 573 grams of gold were recovered. Another accused was apprehended on June 15, with 300 grams of gold seized.
On Friday, the remaining four accused were apprehended, and a further 715 grams of gold were recovered, adding to the total haul.
