Hyderabad Drug Bust: Two Interstate Ganja Peddlers Arrested, 11 Kg Contraband Seized

In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, along with IS Sadan Police Station, arrested two interstate ganja peddlers and seized 11 kilograms of contraband ganja valued at ₹5.5 lakh.

Details of the Arrested Accused
The arrested persons have been identified as:
- Syed Firdous @ Syed Firdoz @ Syed Firdos (31)
Resident of Qalander Nagar, Santosh Nagar, Hyderabad
Occupation: Auto driver / Ganja peddler
Identified as a suspect rowdy sheeter - Mohammad Khadar (46)
Resident of Islam Pura, Echoda Mandal, Adilabad
Occupation: Cook / Ganja transporter
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at IS Sadan Police Station.
Seized Property Worth ₹5.5 Lakh
Police recovered the following items from the accused:
- 11 kg of ganja
- 2 mobile phones
- Cash amount of ₹3,000
The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹5,50,000.
How the Drug Network Operated
Investigations revealed that the prime accused Syed Firdous planned to sell ganja to fund his lavish lifestyle. Acting on his instructions:
- Ganja was procured from Nagpur, Maharashtra
- The contraband was transported to Hyderabad for local distribution
- Orders were received from sub-peddlers in Madannapet and Jalpally
On January 24, 2026, the accused were caught near a hotel while attempting to sell the ganja to local customers.
Several Accused Still Absconding
Police said that four more accused, including suppliers and sub-peddlers from Nagpur and Hyderabad, are currently absconding. Special teams have been formed to trace and arrest them at the earliest.
Police Warn of Strict Action Against Drug Trafficking
Senior officials reiterated that strict action will be taken against drug peddlers, especially those involved in interstate smuggling. Surveillance and special operations will continue to curb the drug menace in Hyderabad.
