- Offered Samsung smartphones at very low prices (around ₹3,500)
- Contacted people through tele-calling using collected mobile data
- Collected orders and payments from customers
- Sent parcels containing Bluetooth speakers, glasses, or other items instead of phones

Over 3,800 Victims Cheated
Police revealed that:
- The gang started operations in 2021
- Around 3,880 people were cheated
- Huge amounts of money were collected through fraud
The scam expanded from Bengaluru to Hyderabad and nearby areas.
Accused Details
The arrested accused include:
- S. Vijay Kumar (33) – Main accused from Bengaluru
- Y. Shiva Kumar (31) – Resident of Hyderabad
- Moddin (32) – Office boy
- Shashikant (22) – Office boy
Another accused, Manjula from Bengaluru, is currently absconding.
Items Seized by Police
During the raid, police seized:
- 2 monitors, 1 laptop, 2 CPUs
- Printer and hard disk
- 4 mobile phones and 27 landline phones
- 30 Bluetooth speakers, 133 tumblers
- Around 150 boxes of herbal products
- 51 SIM cards (Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL)
- ₹1.4 lakh cash
These items were used to run the fraud operation.
Modus Operandi of the Gang
The mastermind Vijay Kumar reportedly got the idea after being cheated in a similar scam.
- He set up a fake call center
- Hired tele-callers through job apps
- Purchased mobile number databases
- Used postal services to send fake parcels
The gang used these tactics to run the scam smoothly and avoid suspicion.
Police Action and Investigation
The accused were arrested by Task Force teams and handed over to Rajendranagar Police Station for further investigation.
