Hyderabad: In a remarkable display of human intellect and spiritual discipline, Hyderabad witnessed the grand आयोजन of “Maha Shatavadhanam,” organized under the aegis of Jain International Vidyapeeth. The event, held on Sunday at the RTC Kalyana Mandapam Auditorium in Bagh Lingampally, drew widespread attention for showcasing the immense potential of concentration and meditation in enhancing memory power.

The prestigious program was inaugurated by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, who lit the ceremonial lamp and praised the ancient Indian art of Avadhanam. He emphasized that such intellectual traditions highlight the extraordinary capabilities of the human brain, often surpassing even modern computers. He further noted that cultivating concentration can help students achieve great success in life and contribute meaningfully to society.

The event was graced by eminent Jain spiritual masters, distinguished guests, and members of the Jain community. Among the key highlights was the awe-inspiring performance by Jain Maha Avadhani Abhinandana Chandrasagar, who demonstrated exceptional memory skills by accurately recalling complex sequences of questions, numbers, verses, and objects presented by hundreds of participants.

His disciples, Nami Chandrasagar and Nemi Chandrasagar, also participated alongside him, reinforcing that the ancient art of Avadhanam continues to thrive in modern times. They described “Shatavadhanam” not merely as an art form but as a way of life rooted in the core Jain principles of non-violence, truth, and non-possession.

Speaking on the occasion, speakers highlighted that in today’s fast-paced, social media-driven world, the ability to concentrate is rapidly declining among youth. Initiatives like these aim to restore mental discipline, focus, and spiritual awareness. Yogesh Gandhi, Trustee of Jain International Vidyapeeth, stated that the primary goal of the event is to promote this unique intellectual tradition while preserving India’s cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations.

The atmosphere at the venue was deeply spiritual, resonating with chants and reverence for the Maha Avadhanis. The program concluded with the felicitation of guests and participants, marking it as a resounding success and a proud moment for Hyderabad as a hub of culture, harmony, and intellectual excellence.
