Hyderabad police register cases against MBT candidate & AIMIM leader for MCC violation
Amjedullah Khan was detained by the police for MCC violation and shifted to old Commissioner of Police office, police said here.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have registered two cases against MBT Yakutpura candidate Amjedullah Khan and AIMIM leader Yaser Arafath on Thursday for violating the model code of conduct (MCC).
Amjedullah Khan was detained by the police for MCC violation and shifted to old Commissioner of Police office, police said here.
He was released after issuing a 41 CrPC notice.
Arafath was also detained by the police after he allegedly snatched away a voter list from some persons.
He was later released.
The police are keeping surveillance at the Yakutpura Assembly constituency in the old city where AIMIM candidate Jaffer Hussain Meraj is pitted against MBT spokesperson Amjedullah Khan.
