Hyderabad Road Repair Drive: GHMC, CMC, MMC Launch Major Pothole Fix Plan Across 14,787 Km Roads

Hyderabad road repair drive by GHMC, CMC, and MMC targets potholes and infrastructure upgrades across 14,787 km roads with major budget allocations.

The Hyderabad road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC has gained momentum as three major civic bodies begin large-scale works to fix potholes and improve road infrastructure across the city.

The Hyderabad Road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC aims to address long-standing issues of damaged roads, especially in suburban areas, where mud roads and poor conditions have caused inconvenience to commuters.

Massive Budget Allocation for Road Repairs

Authorities have sanctioned significant funds under the Hyderabad road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC:

  • GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan allocated:
    • ₹25 crore per zone
    • ₹150 crore for six zones
  • Additional allocations include:
    • ₹500 crore for CMC and MMC combined
    • CMC approved works worth ₹300 crore
    • MMC approved works worth ₹250 crore

Officials have been directed to prepare estimates and secure approvals before March 31.

Focus on Pothole Roads and Colony Development

Under the Hyderabad road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC, special attention is being given to:

  • Repairing pothole-ridden roads
  • Developing colony roads using CC (cement concrete)
  • Utilizing 90% of allocated funds for local infrastructure

Each division in the old GHMC limits has been allocated around ₹1 crore for road development.

Expansion of Road Network Raises Challenges

The city’s road network has expanded significantly:

  • Earlier: 9,000 km roads in old GHMC limits
  • Now: Nearly 15,000 km roads after merging 27 suburban local bodies
  • Total current road length: 14,787.66 km

However, many suburban areas still face issues due to mud roads and lack of proper infrastructure.

CRMP Project to Upgrade Major Roads

As part of the Hyderabad road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC, the government has approved a major upgrade under the Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme (CRMP):

  • Development of 1,045.01 km major roads
  • Total project cost: ₹3,145 crore

This initiative is expected to significantly improve road quality across the city.

Zones Begin Approvals and Work Execution

Key zones like Charminar and Secunderabad have already:

  • Submitted proposals
  • Received approvals
  • Initiated repair and development works

Engineering departments have been instructed to fast-track execution.

The Hyderabad road repair drive GHMC CMC MMC marks a major step toward improving urban infrastructure. With large-scale funding, CRMP projects, and focus on pothole repairs, authorities aim to transform road conditions across all 14,787 km of Hyderabad roads, ensuring safer and smoother travel for residents.
