Hyderabad: A bridegroom who married for the second time without informing his first wife, fled from the reception leaving his bride behind when he saw his first wife coming in.
The bridegroom, Syed Nazeer (Khaleel), was hosting a reception after his wedding on Friday night. Meanwhile his first wife who is a doctor by profession arrived at the venue along with some policemen.
The incident occurred in Moinbagh of Madannapet.
Learning that Nazeer has married another woman and is hosting a reception. his first wife, Dr Sana Samreen rushed to the spot with her brother Abdul Waheed and officials from Santoshnagar police station. Panicked on seeing them, Nazeer, who was on the stage, escaped through the rear entrance.
Deccan Chronicle quoted Samreen’s brother Waheed as saying, “My sister married Nazeer soon after he came from New Zealand in 2019. During the Covid-19 lockdown, he was stuck here and we took care of his expenses. However, he demanded `15 lakh which we could not pay. He then began keeping away from my sister.” Samreen stated “I am a doctor. During the second wave of Covid-19, I served Nazeer’s uncle who was Covid positive and gave most of my savings to him during the lockdown.”
The couple has a 22-month old son.
A complaint has been lodged against Nazeer with Santoshnagar police.
