Hyderabad Set for Major Traffic Relief With ₹80.47 Crore Road Under Bridge and Subway Project

Good news for Malkajgiri residents as a ₹80.47 crore RUB and LHS project is launched at Neredmet Railway Station to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents.

Hyderabad: Bringing long-awaited relief to commuters, the government has approved the construction of a Road Under Bridge (RUB) and Limited Height Subway (LHS) at Neredmet Railway Station to ease persistent traffic congestion in the Malkajgiri area. The ambitious infrastructure project will be taken up at an estimated cost of ₹80.47 crore, marking a major step toward smoother traffic movement and improved road safety.

Foundation Stone Laid at Neredmet

The foundation stone for the Neredmet Railway Station underpass project was laid on Tuesday by Marri Rajender Reddy, MLA, along with Etela Rajender, MP. Local residents and officials welcomed the move, calling it a solution to years of traffic woes at railway crossings.

Project Cost and Components

According to officials, the project includes two key components aimed at decongesting traffic:

  • Road Under Bridge (RUB):
    • Estimated cost: ₹74.47 crore
    • Designed to reduce long traffic queues at railway crossings
  • Limited Height Subway (LHS):
    • Estimated cost: ₹12.81 crore
    • Intended to allow smoother passage for light vehicles and pedestrians

The combined project cost stands at ₹80.47 crore.

Traffic Woes to End Soon

Addressing the gathering, Marri Rajender Reddy said the RUB and LHS works are being taken up specifically to address the daily traffic problems faced by Malkajgiri residents. He said the project would significantly reduce waiting time at railway crossings and improve connectivity within the constituency.

Early Completion Promised

Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender assured that the project would be completed at the earliest in coordination with the Railway Department. He stated that once the RUB and LHS are completed, residents will no longer have to wait for hours at railway crossings, and road accidents are expected to reduce significantly.

He also said the MP and MLA would work together to ensure overall development of the constituency.

Long-Pending Demand Addressed

The Neredmet underpass project has been a long-standing demand of the people of Malkajgiri. With the foundation stone now laid, residents are hopeful that their years-old struggle with traffic congestion will finally come to an end.

The Malkajgiri RUB and LHS construction at Neredmet Railway Station is expected to transform daily commuting and bring much-needed relief to thousands of motorists and pedestrians.
