Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on the illegal sale of steroid injections in Hyderabad, the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, arrested one person for illegally procuring and selling bodybuilding steroid injections without a valid license or medical prescription. The police seized steroid injections and other materials worth Rs 1.60 lakh during the operation.

Accused Arrested Near Attapur
The accused has been identified as Mohd Faisal Khan (25), a furniture worker and resident of Kishanbagh, Hyderabad. Acting on credible information, the Task Force team apprehended him near Asian Theatre while he was carrying steroid injection vials intended for sale.
Seized Materials Worth Rs 1.60 Lakh
During the search, police seized the following items from the accused:
- Mephentermine Sulphate injections (30 mg) – 133 vials
- Disposable syringes – 100
- OnePlus 11R mobile phone – 1
Total value of seized property: Rs 1,60,000
How the Illegal Steroid Racket Operated
According to officials, Mohd Faisal Khan frequently visited gyms and became aware of the high demand for steroid injections among youth seeking rapid muscle growth. Exploiting this demand, he allegedly began procuring steroid injections illegally and selling them at inflated prices to known customers.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had purchased the steroid injections from IndiaMART, Surat, and sold them without possessing a drug license or doctor’s prescription, violating the law and endangering public health.
Health Risks and Police Warning
Police officials stated that unauthorised use of steroid injections can lead to serious health complications, addiction, and long-term diseases, especially among young individuals. The persons who had consumed the injections were counselled and advised to consult qualified medical doctors for proper treatment and guidance.
Case Registered, Further Action Underway
The arrest was made under the supervision of Inspector Ch. Yadender and Sub-Inspector Md. Jahed of the West Zone Task Force, along with their staff. Legal action has been initiated against the accused as per law, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply network.
The Hyderabad police steroid injection seizure once again highlights the need for public awareness and strict action against illegal drug sales that pose a serious threat to public health.
