Hyderabad: Traffic Advisory for Saddula Bathukamma Celebration on Sunday

Hyderabad: In anticipation of the grand “Saddula Bathukamma” celebration scheduled for Sunday, October 22 at Lumbini Park and Upper Tank Bund, the city of Hyderabad is making extensive preparations to ensure a memorable event.

While the festivities promise joy and merriment, traffic congestion is expected in the vicinity, prompting the need for comprehensive traffic advisories and diversions.

Traffic Diversions and Restrictions

In light of the upcoming Saddula Bathukamma celebration, traffic adjustments are necessary to manage the flow of vehicles and accommodate the event’s large gathering. To facilitate this, several key traffic diversions and restrictions will be implemented, contingent upon the local situation.

Traffic Diversions – A Comprehensive Plan

RTC Buses and City Bus Diversions

The organizers are mindful of the need for continuous public transportation during the event. As a result, inter-district RTC buses and city buses will be diverted along specified routes to ensure minimal disruption and seamless travel for the public.

Avoiding Congestion Points

It is strongly advised that citizens plan their routes carefully to avoid specific junctions where traffic congestion is expected during the celebration. Staying informed and selecting alternative routes will help mitigate delays and ensure a smoother travel experience.

Parking Arrangements

To accommodate the expected influx of attendees, parking arrangements have been meticulously organized at various locations. These arrangements aim to make the event more accessible and convenient for everyone, allowing participants to enjoy the festivities without concerns about parking.

Traffic Diversion Details

General traffic coming to Tank Bund from Telugu Thalli junction and Karbala Maidan, will not be allowed on October 22 from 1400 hrs to 2300 hrs. Traffic coming from Iqbal Minar will not be allowed towards Upper Tank Bund and will be diverted towards Telugu Thalli flyover–Kattamaisamma-DBR-Indira Park-Gandhinagar-RTC crossroads.

Traffic coming from V.V. Statue towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Indira Gandhi Statue (Necklace Road) towards Prasad’s IMAX and Mint Lane. Traffic from Nallagutta junction towards Budha Bhavan will not be allowed and will be diverted at Nallagutta Crossroads towards Ranigunj and Necklace Road.

Traffic coming from Liberty towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Ambedker Statue towards Iqbal Minar ‘u’ turn via Telugu Thalli Junction on to the Telugu Thalli Flyover.

Traffic coming from Secunderabad towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Karbala Maidan towards Bible House-Jabbar complex-Kawadiguda–Lower Tank Bund-Kattamaisamma and Telugu Thalli Flyover.

Traffic coming from Musheerbad and Kawadiguda towards Children’s Park–Upper Tank bund will not be allowed and diverted at DBR Mills towards Lower Tankbund-Kattamaisamma.

RTC Buses Diversion

All inter-district RTC buses coming from Secunderabad towards MGBS will be diverted at Sweekar – Upkar Junction towards YWCA – Sangeeth – Mettuguda – Tarnaka – Nallakunta – Fever Hospital Cross Road – Barkathpura – Tourist Hotel – Nimboli Adda – Chaderghat – Rangmahal and MGBS from 1400 hrs to 2300 hrs.

City buses will be diverted at Karbala Maidan towards Bible House – Jabbar Complex – Kawadiguda Cross Roads – Lower Tank Bund – Kattamaisamma and on to the Telugu Thalli Flyover from 1400 hrs to 2300 hrs.

Citizens are requested to avoid following the junctions where traffic congestion is expected i.e., (1.) V.V. Statue, Khairatabad, (2.) Old PS Saifabad, (3.) Iqbal Minar, (4.) Telugu Thalli Junction, (5.) Necklace Road, (6.) Liberty, (7.) Ravindra Bharati, (8.) Ambedkar Statue, (9.) Tank Bund, (10.) Kavadiguda Crossroads, (11.) Kattamaisamma, (12.) Karbala Maidan, (13.) Ranigunj, and (14.) Nallagutta.
