In a significant development before the Telangana High Court, the Hydraa Commissioner filed a memo placing on record the finalized Full Tank Level (FTL) notification for Surram Cheruvu, also referred to as Salkam Cheruvu, in the Bandlaguda area. During the hearing, Assistant Advocate General Imran Ali Khan informed the court that, as per the finalized FTL limits, no constructions exist within the FTL area of Surram Cheruvu. The Hydraa Commissioner submitted a memo before the Telangana High Court placing on record the finalized Full Tank Level (FTL) notification for Surram Cheruvu, also known as Salkam Cheruvu, located in the Bandlaguda area.
The memo was filed in WP No. 11130 of 2026, which is currently being heard by Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar.
According to the submission, the finalized FTL notification is supported by reports from:
- GHMC Commissioner
- Chief Engineer, Irrigation
- District Collector, Hyderabad
State Tells High Court No Constructions Exist Within FTL Limits
During the hearing, Assistant Advocate General Imran Ali Khan appeared on behalf of the state and submitted that, as per the finalized FTL limits, there are no constructions within the FTL area of Surram Cheruvu.
The submission was presented as an important clarification in relation to the Fatima Owaisi College matter.
Mission Kakatiya and G.O. Ms. No. 560 of 2018 Cited
It was also brought to the notice of the court that:
- A ring bund had already been formed under Mission Kakatiya in 2018.
- The lake had been rejuvenated pursuant to G.O. Ms. No. 560 of 2018.
- The rejuvenation work was carried out through the concerned authorities, including HMDA.
High Court Posts Matter After Three Weeks
After taking the memo and submissions on record, the Telangana High Court posted the matter after three weeks to enable the other side to file their respective counters.
The development brings procedural clarity to the dispute, with the official FTL limits now placed before the court and the state’s law officer recording that no constructions fall within the notified FTL limits of Surram Cheruvu.
