Illegal Foot Boarding in Hyderabad’s RTC Bus Sparks Concerns Over Safety and Traffic Chaos

Foot boarding, a term used to describe the act of standing on steps, walking or moving through a moving bus, is strictly prohibited on RTC buses.

Hyderabad: In an astonishing incident that unfolded during the Friday morning rush hour, two individuals were spotted “foot boarding” their way through a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus, from Chaderghat to Nampally.

The unauthorized adventure raised significant concerns regarding passenger safety, traffic congestion, and compliance with public transportation rules.

Foot boarding, a term used to describe the act of standing on steps, walking or moving through a moving bus, is strictly prohibited on RTC buses. The incident occurred despite clear regulations that require passengers to board and disembark only through designated entrances.

The RTC buses have separate entrances for men and women, a measure implemented to ensure passenger safety and comfort. However, the daring act of foot boarding disrupted the established order, leading to a chaotic situation during the already crowded morning commute.

With buses running at low frequencies and commuters facing long waiting times at traffic signals, the unexpected incident only added to the traffic chaos.

The lack of bus frequency during rush hour further exacerbates traffic problems, making it essential for passengers to follow the prescribed rules and avoid unauthorized activities.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have been called upon to address the incident promptly and to enforce stricter regulations to deter such behavior in the future. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the foot boarding incident.

This alarming incident underscores the importance of adhering to public transportation rules and respecting the safety measures put in place for the well-being of passengers and the general public.

As Hyderabad continues to grapple with traffic congestion, initiatives to ensure smoother traffic flow and passenger safety must be prioritized.

Commuters are urged to cooperate with authorities, follow the rules, and help maintain a safe and efficient public transportation system in the city.
