Hyderabad: The Telangana Inter Board has taken strict action after mass copying was detected during Intermediate practical exams reveals CCTV surveillance for the academic year 2025–26. Practicals in five private junior colleges have been cancelled, and several examiners and lab staff have been removed after serious irregularities were caught on camera.

The issue came to light during practical exams conducted between February 2 and February 5, which were monitored through the Command Control Centre set up by the Inter Board.
CCTV Monitoring Exposes Malpractice
According to officials, CCTV cameras installed at practical examination centres clearly showed organised mass copying. In several centres:
- CCTV cameras were switched off or tampered with
- Examination hall doors were kept open deliberately
- Invigilators allegedly worked along with college managements
The board found that mass copying was taking place in multiple private and corporate junior colleges.
Colleges Where Practicals Were Cancelled
Mass copying was reportedly detected in leading corporate colleges located in:
- Jubilee Hills
- Malakpet
- Shaheen Nagar
- Kukatpally
The most affected districts are:
- Hyderabad
- Rangareddy
- Medchal
- Mahabubnagar
47 Examiners and Lab Staff Removed
As part of disciplinary action:
- 47 examiners and lab staff were terminated from practical examination duties
- Practicals were cancelled in five colleges
- Students from these colleges were shifted to nearby examination centres
Over 4 Lakh Students Appearing for Practicals
Across Telangana:
- Around 4.07 lakh MPC and BiPC students are attending Intermediate practical exams
- Reports indicate some private colleges charged Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000 per student for practicals
No action has been taken against students so far. The Inter Board has focused action on examiners, lab staff, and college managements involved in malpractice.
Inter Board’s Official Statement
Inter Board Secretary Krishna Aditya said that strict action is being taken against examiners and laboratory staff responsible for the irregularities. He added that the board is committed to conducting fair and transparent examinations.
Strong Warning to Private Colleges
The mass copying in Telangana Inter practical exams has raised serious concerns about the functioning of some private junior colleges. With continuous CCTV surveillance now in place, the Inter Board has warned that any further violations will invite severe action.
The crackdown clearly signals that exam integrity will not be compromised under any circumstances.
