Soumya’s Condition Still Critical
Speaking to the media after the visit, Kavitha said Soumya’s condition remains critical but stable, and that she had spoken to the family members to reassure them of full support. She said if criminals dare to attack an excise constable, it clearly shows that the mafia has no fear of the government.
Drugs Reaching Villages and Schools
Kavitha said the government had promised a drug- and ganja-free Telangana, but the reality is worrying. “Ganja and drugs are now easily available even in villages and schools. Children and youth are being destroyed, and women are the worst affected,” she said. She added that drug abuse is also a major reason behind rising domestic violence cases.
Demand to Arm Excise and Forest Staff
The Telangana Jagruthi leader strongly demanded that:
- Excise and Forest Department staff be provided with weapons
- Staff are trained in firing but are sent to the field without protection
- Providing weapons will create fear among drug and ganja mafias
Appeal to Party Cadre and Public
Kavitha appealed to Telangana Jagruthi leaders and workers to actively fight against drugs. She urged the public to immediately inform the police if they come across any information related to drug or ganja trafficking. She reiterated that Telangana Jagruthi stands firmly with Soumya and her family.
Serious Allegations Against Santosh Rao
Kavitha made serious allegations against Santosh Rao, claiming he acted as a key informer for Revanth Reddy and had access to sensitive information related to K Chandrashekar Rao. She questioned why leaders like K T Rama Rao and Harish Rao were allegedly supporting him.
Call for Independent Police Action
Kavitha said if the police act without political pressure, Santosh Rao will definitely be punished. While summoning him before the SIT is a positive step, she said doubts remain about whether real justice will be delivered. She urged police officials to uphold the law impartially.
