KIMS hosts international conference on advanced pulmonary nodule management
KIMS Hospitals, Seethammadhara, in association with KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases (KIMS ICON), Visakhapatnam, organised an international conference on Advanced Pulmonary Nodule Management at a city hotel on Sunday.

The conference witnessed participation from over 300 pulmonologists, physicians and oncologists from across the country, along with experts from overseas.
The scientific sessions focused on the early detection and advanced management of pulmonary nodules. Experts deliberated on the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including Radial Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), Body Vision Navigation, Augmented Fluoroscopy, Robotic Bronchoscopy, Bronchoscopic Trans-Parenchymal Nodule Access (BTPNA), Cryo-biopsy and Radiofrequency Ablation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharat Chukka and Dr. K. S. Phaneendra Kumar Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist at KIMS Hospitals, Vizag , said that accurate identification of lung nodules at an early stage plays a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and quality of life. He added that the primary objective of the conference was to integrate rapidly evolving technologies into routine clinical practice.
As part of the event, KIMS Hospitals announced the introduction of Cone Beam CT facilities for lung biopsies at its Seethammadhara unit. With this, KIMS Hospitals became the first hospital in Andhra Pradesh to offer Cone Beam CT–guided pulmonary biopsy services, the doctors said.
The facility is expected to significantly enhance accuracy and safety in the diagnosis of pulmonary nodules, reaffirming KIMS Hospitals’ commitment to adopting advanced medical technologies.
Among those present were KIMS ICON Managing Director Dr. Satish Kumar Pethakamsetti, Executive Director Dr. T. Sai Balaramakrishna, KIMS Vizag Regional CEO Dr. Nagesh, Medical Director Dr. Gopalaraju, and Dr. Ravindra Babu, along with international faculty members Dr. Pipetius Kwa of Woodlands Health, Singapore, and Dr. Ching-Kai Lin, among others.
