Speaking to media at Kyathanpalli, the BRS leader said the padayatra will focus on public issues and grassroots engagement.

BRS to Contest Elections Alone, No Alliances

Ruling out any alliances, K. T. Rama Rao made it clear that:

  • The party will contest upcoming elections independently
  • There will be no alliance with BJP or any other party
  • The decision is based on past experiences where alliances did not work

“We will contest alone and return to power,” he asserted confidently.

Views on Delimitation and Political Opportunities

KTR also spoke about the proposed delimitation of constituencies, stating that:

  • Increase in Assembly and Parliamentary seats will create opportunities
  • There will be no objection if proportional representation is maintained
  • Uniform increase across states without reducing existing share is acceptable

Electoral Strategy and Candidate Selection

On election strategy, K. T. Rama Rao said the party will focus on:

  • Winability of candidates
  • Strategic decisions in ticket allocation
  • Possible leadership changes in the Godavari belt to improve prospects

He emphasized that the party will take practical decisions to ensure electoral success.

KTR Admits Shortcomings During BRS Rule

KTR acknowledged certain gaps during the previous BRS government tenure:

  • Lack of effective coordination with grassroots leaders
  • Issues with engagement of cadre, sarpanches, MPTCs, and mandal-level leaders
  • Absence of a comprehensive Gulf policy despite large migrant workforce

Criticism of Congress Government Led by Revanth Reddy

Launching an attack on the current government led by Revanth Reddy, KTR alleged:

  • Poor implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme
  • Delays in farm loan waiver
  • Issues in fee reimbursement for students

He claimed that these issues have led to declining public confidence.

KTR Confident of BRS Comeback

The KTR padayatra 2027 announcement signals the party’s renewed focus on reconnecting with voters.

K. T. Rama Rao expressed confidence that the BRS will stage a strong comeback in the next elections, contesting independently and focusing on public issues.
