KTR condemns statewide house arrests of BRS leaders

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) expressed his anger over the house arrests of BRS leaders across the state.
In a statement on Friday, KTR condemned the police action, calling it illegal. He questioned whether house arrests would be carried out across the state and asked, “Are opposition parties not allowed to hold public meetings under this administration?”
KTR likened the current situation to the days of emergency, referring to it as “Indiramma Rajyam,” a veiled criticism of the Congress era. He suggested that the government’s fear of a BRS party meeting was indicative of its insecurity. “Why is the government so afraid of BRS leaders?” he asked, emphasising that the house arrests of BRS leaders were unacceptable.
KTR further demanded the immediate arrest of Congress supporters, allegedly followers of MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, who were involved in the attack on MLA Kaushik Reddy’s house. He criticised the government for arresting BRS leaders while allowing the attackers to go free, calling it proof of the government’s “decadent policies.” He also warned that no political power is permanent and that the oppression of BRS leaders would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
KTR remarked that the people of the state were watching the Congress’s undemocratic actions closely.
He accused the Congress of fostering a culture of attacking opposition MLAs, something he claimed had never been seen before in Telangana. He made it clear that the BRS would not tolerate any attempt to damage Telangana’s image and expressed confidence that the people would hold the Congress accountable when the time comes.
KTR demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all BRS leaders who had been illegally arrested.
