KTR Demands Answers from Congress on Broken Promises to Telangana People

KTR Targets Congress Over 420 Days of Broken Promises
KTR, in a sharp criticism of the Congress, tagged top party leader Rahul Gandhi in a post about the “420 promises” made during the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. He described it as the 420th day of Congress’ “dishonest rule” in the state, accusing the party of delivering “fake guarantees, broken promises, untruthful declarations, and false affidavits.”
“Today marks the 420th day of dishonest rule of Congress riding on the 420 poll promises to people of Telangana. 420 days of fake guarantees, broken promises, untruthful declarations and false affidavits,” KTR posted on social media.
KTR Criticizes Congress for Misleading the People
The BRS leader emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi would have been ashamed to witness how people’s hopes had been dashed and lies were relentlessly sold by the Congress. “There is no greater fraud than a broken promise! People of Telangana deserve answers from AICC leadership,” he added.

BRS Holds Statewide Protests Against Unkept Promises
In response to the Congress’ failure to fulfill its electoral promises, the BRS organized a unique protest across Telangana on Thursday. As part of the protest, BRS leaders and cadres presented representations to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi across the state.
Coinciding with the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the BRS symbolically offered representations to the statues of the Father of the Nation as a protest against the unfulfilled promises.
Allegations Against Congress Government
The BRS leaders alleged that the Congress government had failed to keep its promises made during the 2023 election campaign. BRS leaders, including former minister E. Dayakar Rao, accused Congress of betraying farmers, women, and other sections of society.
Dayakar Rao specifically criticized the Congress for backstabbing farmers and not fulfilling promises related to financial assistance for women, including the Rs 2,500 monthly aid and the promise of a tola of gold for girls at the time of marriage. He claimed that Congress had failed to deliver on all its promises, betraying the people of Telangana.
