Kumaraswamy lambasts CM Ibrahim for his comments against JDS-BJP alliance
"Why should I take Ibrahim's statement seriously? Please don't discuss silly matters with me. Our party leaders will discuss, and fix the issue," Kumaraswamy told reporters here.

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday slammed State JDS President CM Ibrahim for opposing party patriarch Deve Gowda’s decision to forge a pre-poll alliance with BJP ahead of 2024 general elections.
The party leaders will take a decision and fix the problem, he added.
“Why should I take Ibrahim’s statement seriously? Please don’t discuss silly matters with me. Our party leaders will discuss, and fix the issue,” Kumaraswamy told reporters here.
During a party meeting convened by him on Monday, Ibrahim had stated that there was no question of quitting the party as he was the real JDS.
Reacting to it, Kumaraswamy said, “If his (Ibrahim) party is original, then let him put up a board saying his party is original. Who is stopping him?”
Ibrahim had said that he would meet Gowda to convey the decision taken by the core committee, which has decided against any truck with BJP in the runup to the general elections.
Soon after the dismal performance of the party in May assembly election, bagging only 19 seats, Ibrahim had submitted his resignation to Gowda, but the JDS Supremo turned down his resignation.
Former minister R Ashoka, however, argued that the meeting convened by Ibrahim is not worth it as the executive committee calls the shots. “The executive committee is with Deve Gowda,” he said.
