Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Telangana: 45 IAS Officers Transferred

Hyderabad: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Telangana government has transferred 45 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, bringing major changes to the state’s bureaucratic structure.
The orders were issued by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao as part of a large-scale reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and streamlining administration across departments and districts.
According to the official notification, Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as Special Chief Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, shifting from his previous role as Special Secretary for Industries and Commerce. N. Sridhar, who was serving in Panchayat Raj, has been moved to the IT and Industries Department as Principal Secretary. He will also continue to hold additional charge of Mines and Geology.

In key institutional appointments, Gaurav Uppal, previously associated with Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, has been appointed Managing Director of TGMSSIDC. Musharraf Ali Faruqui has been named CMD of the newly established third DISCOM after being shifted from TGSPDCL, where Jitish V. Patil has been appointed as the new CMD.
Among district-level changes, several collectors have been reassigned. B. Vijender, Collector of Mahabubnagar, has been appointed Secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society and Commissioner for SC Development. Advaith Kumar Singh, Collector of Mahabubabad, has been posted as Special Secretary at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.
M. Hanumantha Rao, Collector of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, has been appointed Director of Endowments and Special Officer for Godavari Pushkaralu. Narayanpet Collector Sikta Patnaik has been moved to the Finance Department as Special Secretary.

Further reshuffles include the appointment of Sandeep Kumar Jha as Collector of Jangaon and Anurag Jayanti as Collector of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. Pamela Satpathy has been posted as Special Commissioner in the Labour Department, while Rahul Raj has been appointed Registrar and Special Commissioner of Cooperative Societies.
In additional district appointments, Rizwan Pasha Sheikh has been posted as Collector of Jogulamba Gadwal, while Santosh has been named Director of Tribal Welfare. Prateek Jain has been appointed Collector of Narayanpet, and Sneha Shabareesh has been posted as Collector of Mahabubabad.
Several other officers have been given additional responsibilities across departments, including Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, GHMC zonal offices, and various district administrations.
The large-scale reshuffle is seen as an effort by the state government to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure effective implementation of development and welfare programs across Telangana.
