Major Nampally Fire Disrupts Traffic; Numaish Visit Postponed for a Day, Police Issue Advisory

Hyderabad: In view of a major fire accident in Nampally, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, has appealed to the public to postpone their visit to the Nampally Numaish for one day. He stated that a severe fire at a furniture shop in the area has led to heavy traffic congestion, which may cause inconvenience and pose safety concerns for visitors.

The Police Commissioner said that considering public safety and the need to ensure smooth traffic movement, citizens are requested to reschedule their visit to the exhibition to Sunday and extend full cooperation to the authorities engaged in emergency and traffic management duties.

Meanwhile, a massive fire broke out at the Bacha Crystal Furniture Store in Nampally, engulfing a four-storey building. According to preliminary reports, six people, including two children, were trapped inside the building following the incident.

On receiving information, multiple fire engines rushed to the spot and a large-scale rescue operation was launched. Officials suspect that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, though the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed investigation.

Dense smoke billowing from the ground floor prevented those insides from escaping, forcing them to remain stranded on the upper floors. Rescue teams are making strenuous efforts to evacuate those trapped, using JCB machines and heavy cranes to safely bring them out from the top floors of the building.

Senior fire and police officials are present at the scene and are closely monitoring the situation. The rescue operation is still underway, and further details are awaited.
