A man shot and killed his younger brother with a licensed gun in a dispute over the filling of water from a government tap in Madnapur area of Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhir Jaiswal said on Thursday that Naresh, the son of Pappu Yadav (40), a resident of Makrandpur village of Masnapur police station, went to the tap on Wednesday night to fetch water.
Then, under the influence of alcohol, Pappu’s elder brother Mahaveer Yadav started abusing him.
Pappu arrived on hearing the voice, he objected to the abuse.
When the dispute escalated, Mahavir Yadav shot Pappu with his licensed gun, killing him on the spot.
The police have registered a case and arrested the accused with a gun.
