Hyderabad: Married Woman Protests Outside In-Laws’ House Alleging Harassment and Extra-Marital Relationship
A married woman protested outside her in-laws’ house in Medipally, Hyderabad, alleging harassment, dowry demands, and her husband’s extra-marital relationship. Police intervened.

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Dharani Colony under Medipally Police Station limits in Medchal district after a married woman staged a protest outside her in-laws’ house, demanding justice and action against her husband for alleged harassment and extra-marital relationship.

The woman, identified as Padma, accused her husband of living with another woman despite being legally married to her.
Allegations of Extra-Marital Relationship
Padma alleged that her husband Bandi Pawan, whom she married about 10 years ago, started living with another woman, citing the excuse that they were not having children.
She claimed that:
- Her husband is cohabiting with another woman while she is still his legal wife
- The other woman is currently staying in the same house
- She has been subjected to mental and physical harassment
Dowry and Property Claims
The victim further alleged that:
- ₹20 lakh in cash and 10 tolas of gold were given as dowry at the time of marriage
- Later, due to continued harassment, her parents also gave one acre of land registered in both their names
- Despite this, she continues to face abuse and neglect
Protest Outside In-Laws’ Residence
Saying that she wants her husband back and justice as a wife, Padma, along with her relatives, staged a dharna outside her in-laws’ house.
She demanded that:
- Police ensure justice
- The woman allegedly living with her husband be brought out of the house
- Immediate action be taken against those harassing her
Police Step In as Tensions Rise
Medipally police reached the spot and tried to pacify the situation. The woman intensified her protest by sitting in front of a police vehicle, demanding immediate intervention.
Police officials said they are:
- Looking into the allegations
- Gathering details from both sides
- Working to resolve the issue as per law
Case Under Review
The Medipally domestic dispute case is currently under police review. Authorities said appropriate legal action will be taken after examining all facts and statements.
