No Fuel Shortage in Hyderabad: CP Sajjanar Urges Public Not to Believe Rumors, 60 Days Stock Available

No fuel shortage in Hyderabad, says CP Sajjanar. 60 days petrol and diesel stock available. Public urged to avoid panic buying and fake news.

Amid widespread rumors, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has clarified that there is no fuel shortage in Hyderabad and urged citizens not to panic. He assured that the city has sufficient petrol and diesel stock for 60 days, and there is no need for unnecessary concern.

Public Asked Not to Rush to Petrol Pumps

The Commissioner appealed to citizens:

  • Do not believe fake news on social media
  • Avoid unnecessary rush at petrol pumps
  • Do not fill full tanks without need

He explained that panic buying is causing temporary pressure at some fuel stations.

Temporary ‘No Stock’ Due to High Demand, Not Shortage

Officials clarified that:

  • Sudden rush has increased fuel demand sharply
  • Some petrol pumps may show temporary “No Stock” boards
  • This is due to high demand, not actual shortage

Authorities stressed that fuel supply is running smoothly across Hyderabad.

Fuel Sales Doubled Due to Panic Buying

According to official data:

  • Fuel sales were 3,024 kilolitres on March 22
  • The next day, sales doubled to 6,400 kilolitres

This spike clearly shows that panic buying is the main reason behind increased demand.

Strict Action Against Rule Violations

The Hyderabad Police issued a strong warning:

  • Selling petrol or diesel in bottles and cans is illegal
  • Strict action will be taken against violators
  • Authorities are monitoring those spreading false information online

Government Monitoring Fuel Supply Closely

A high-level review meeting was conducted with:

  • District Collector Harichandana, IAS
  • Additional CP Tapseer Iqbal, IPS
  • Joint CP Shweta, IPS
  • Civil Supplies officials

Officials confirmed:

  • Fuel supply is uninterrupted across the city
  • Continuous coordination with oil companies is ongoing

Control Room Set Up to Monitor Situation

District officials also announced:

  • A special control room has been set up
  • Fuel supply is normal at majority of petrol pumps
  • Field-level teams are actively monitoring the situation

No Fuel Shortage in Hyderabad, Stay Calm

Reiterating the key message, authorities confirmed that there is no fuel shortage in Hyderabad and enough stock is available for 60 days. Citizens are urged to remain calm, avoid panic buying, and rely only on official updates to maintain smooth fuel supply in the city.
