Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir were put on high alert after multiple drones, suspected to be of Pakistani origin, were spotted near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri, Poonch, and Samba districts. The Indian Army reportedly opened fire on at least one of the drones as it attempted to enter Indian airspace.

According to officials, the drones were seen hovering near sensitive sectors along the LoC, raising concerns about potential reconnaissance or smuggling of weapons and narcotics. Troops stationed in the area were immediately alerted and took prompt action to monitor and respond to the aerial movements.

In Rajouri district, a drone with flickering lights was spotted around 6:35 PM near Dharmashal village in Kalakot, moving toward the Barkh sector. Around 7:15 PM, another drone was observed hovering for several minutes over Chak Babaral village in the Ramgarh sector of Samba. Earlier, at 6:25 PM, a drone-like object was also seen near the Mankot sector in Poonch, close to the LoC.

Security agencies suspect that these drones may have been deployed to gather intelligence on Indian Army positions or to deliver contraband to infiltrators. This is not the first instance of Pakistan reportedly using drones for reconnaissance or smuggling attempts across the LoC. In recent weeks, such drone sightings have increased in Jammu and surrounding areas, adding to the challenges faced by security forces.

Authorities have urged vigilance and reassured the public that measures are being taken to prevent any breach of security. The army continues to maintain tight surveillance along the border, keeping troops ready to respond to any potential threat.
