Corporates, families, and fitness enthusiasts turned up in large numbers, reflecting growing public interest in preventive health initiatives that combine fitness with awareness. The cyclothon served as a platform to take conversations around regular screening and healthier lifestyle choices beyond hospital spaces and into the community.
The cyclothon flagged off at 5:30 AM from Arete Hospitals and concluded at the same venue by 8:30 AM. Corporates and families took part in the 7.5 km and 22.5 km ride categories as part of the cancer awareness initiative.

Dr. Vijender Reddy T, Chairman, Arete Hospitals, noted that the strong community participation reflected growing awareness around preventive healthcare. “The success of Cyclothon – Edition 1 demonstrates how communities respond positively when healthcare initiatives become inclusive and engaging.
As a responsible healthcare institution, Arete Hospitals will continue to drive initiatives that promote awareness, prevention, and long-term community well-being,” he said.
Organised in partnership with You Too Can Run, which managed race operations including registrations and route execution, the event also saw support from cycling partners Hyderabad Cycling Revolution, Happy Hyderabad, and Hyderabad Cyclists Group, who contributed to community participation and rider engagement.
All participants were awarded medals in recognition of their participation and commitment to the cause. Hydration support for the event was provided by energy partner Fast&Up, ensuring cyclists remained energized throughout the ride.
Supporting the larger cause of paediatric cancer care, proceeds and donations from the initiative will benefit charity partner CanKids, which works toward improving outcomes and providing support for children battling cancer.
With the successful completion of its first edition, Cyclothon is set to become an annual initiative by Arete Hospitals, strengthening its ongoing efforts to promote preventive healthcare, early intervention, and sustained community awareness.
