Khammam: Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday made a strong statement, saying that phone tapping is still happening in Telangana, even now, and not just in the past.

He said the state government is taking the issue very seriously and has already started an investigation to identify those behind it.
Investigation Underway Into Phone Tapping
Speaking at a press conference held at the SR Convention Hall in Khammam, the minister said officials are trying to find out:
- Where phone tapping equipment has been installed
- Who are the key people involved
- How long the illegal activity has been continuing
He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty after the investigation.
“Democratic Freedoms Will Not Be Violated”
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government will not tolerate any violation of democratic rights.
“Many people are raising concerns about phone tapping, and it is true that such activities are still taking place. The government is conducting a detailed probe, and the truth will come out. The law will take its course,” he said.
He added that the focus is on identifying the masterminds and the locations where tapping devices were installed.

The minister also spoke about the municipal elections scheduled for Wednesday, covering 116 municipalities and 7 corporations in Telangana.
