Bank holidays in India are not uniform across the country, as several holidays are observed only in specific states depending on local festivals, regional events, and commemorative occasions.

Bank Holidays This Week
- July 16 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand and Manipur on account of the Harela Festival, while banks in Odisha will remain shut for Rath Yatra celebrations.
- July 17 (Friday): Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed to mark the death anniversary of local leader U Tirot Sing.
- July 18 (Saturday): Banks in Sikkim will remain closed for the Drukpa Tshe-Zi festival.
- July 19 (Sunday): Banks across the country will remain closed due to the weekly holiday.
Banks Open Normally at the Beginning of the Week
The RBI calendar indicates that banks in most states will operate as usual on July 13, 14, and 15. Customers who need to complete branch-related tasks such as cash deposits, cheque clearances, or KYC updates are advised to do so during these days to avoid inconvenience.

Banks to Remain Closed for 12 Days in July
According to the RBI holiday schedule, banks across India will remain closed for a total of 12 days in July 2026, including national holidays, regional festivals, Sundays, and second and fourth Saturdays.
The closures include all Sundays falling on July 5, 12, 19, and 26, as well as the second Saturday on July 11 and the fourth Saturday on July 25, when bank branches across the country remain closed.
Digital Banking Services to Continue
Banking experts noted that while physical branches may remain closed during holidays, digital banking services such as internet banking, mobile banking, UPI transactions, and ATMs will continue to function normally.
Customers can use these platforms to transfer funds, pay bills, check account balances, and access most banking services without visiting a branch.
