New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Teachers’ Day cautioned against the growing dependence on digital devices, saying excessive screen time is increasingly turning into a form of addiction.
Interacting with teachers on the occasion, PM Modi highlighted the need to maintain a healthy balance between technology use and real-world activities. He stressed the importance of encouraging children and young people to spend more time engaging in meaningful interactions, learning and physical activities rather than remaining constantly glued to screens.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid growing concerns over excessive smartphone and digital-device use among children and adolescents. He urged teachers to play an important role in guiding students towards responsible technology habits and creating greater awareness about the impact of excessive screen exposure.
