Prime Minister Narendra Modi triggered fresh political discussion in Telangana after making a light but politically significant remark about Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during an official event in Hyderabad.

The Prime Minister arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth around Rs 9,400 crore at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Gachibowli.

At the end of his speech, Narendra Modi said with a smile:

“I will not say anything political… but you will not be able to reach where you want to go… so it is better to join me.”

Following the statement, BJP leaders and party workers present at the venue raised loud slogans, while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was also present on the stage.

Political Analysts See Modi’s Remark as Significant Signal

Political observers described the Prime Minister’s statement as more than just a joke and viewed it as an important indication of changing political dynamics in Telangana.

The event was attended by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar and several other dignitaries.

PM Modi Launches Rs 9,400 Crore Development Projects

Projects inaugurated or launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi included:

  • Four-laning of National Highway 167 up to Mahabubnagar under the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor
  • Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district
  • Kazipet-Vijayawada Railway Multi-Tracking Project
  • Greenfield POL Terminal
  • Kazipet Railway Underpass
  • PM MITRA Park in Warangal

The “Kakatiya Mega Textile Park” in Warangal has become the country’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park and was developed at a cost of around Rs 1,700 crore.

The project is considered part of the Central government’s “5F Policy” — Farm to Fiber, Fiber to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign.

Modi Addresses Public Meeting at Parade Grounds

Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a large public gathering at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

Heavy security arrangements were made across the city in view of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Around 2,000 police personnel were deployed, while Parade Grounds and surrounding areas were placed under a strict security cover.

According to Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi, people attending the public meeting were allowed entry only through designated gates, and every individual underwent thorough checking.

BJP Seen Strengthening Political Position in Telangana

Political analysts believe Prime Minister Modi’s statement may indicate possible future political alignments and changes in Telangana politics.

Observers also feel that the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to strengthen its political position further in the state.
