Speaking at an awareness seminar organized by H-FAST at the old Police Commissionerate in Basheerbagh, Sajjanar made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against traders involved in adulteration in Hyderabad.

Strong Warning Against Food Adulteration in Hyderabad

The Police Commissioner emphasized that:

  • Food adulteration is a serious crime
  • It poses a major threat to public health
  • Authorities are actively monitoring markets across Hyderabad

Around 200 traders and representatives from sectors like:

  • Meat
  • Dairy
  • Bakery products
  • Ginger-garlic paste
  • Tea powder

attended the seminar and were urged to follow food safety norms strictly.

Fake Mango Alert: Dangerous Chemicals in Market

In a recent public message, Sajjanar warned citizens to be cautious while buying mangoes during the summer season.

He highlighted that:

  • Some traders are using calcium carbide and other chemicals to artificially ripen mangoes
  • These mangoes may look bright yellow and attractive but are harmful inside
  • Naturally ripened mangoes do not have uniform color

Health Risks of Chemically Ripened Mangoes

Medical experts warn that consuming such adulterated mangoes can cause:

  • Throat irritation
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Long-term risks like nervous system damage and respiratory issues

How to Identify Fake Mangoes

  • Chemical smell
