Purana Pul Incident: Police Conduct Flag March to Maintain Peace, DCP Appeals for Calm

After the Purana Pul incident, Hyderabad Police conducted a flag march across Asif Nagar and nearby areas. DCP Golconda Zone appealed to the public to stay calm and not believe rumours.

Hyderabad, January 16: Following the Purana Pul incident, the Hyderabad Police conducted a flag march on Friday to reassure the public and maintain law and order in the sensitive areas of the city. The march was led by senior police officials to send a strong message of peace, security, and preparedness.

The police said the situation is under control and urged citizens not to believe rumours.

Senior Police Officers Lead Flag March

The flag march was carried out under the supervision of G Chandra Mohan, in the presence of:

  • ACP Tolichowki Syed Faiyaz
  • Asif Nagar ACP
  • Goshamahal ACP

The presence of senior officials was aimed at boosting public confidence and ensuring visible policing in the affected localities.

Flag March Route Covered Sensitive Areas

The police flag march in Hyderabad passed through several sensitive areas before reaching Purana Pul. The route included:

  • Asif Nagar
  • Jhirra
  • Tappachabutra
  • Mangalhat
  • Kulsumpura
  • Purana Pul

Police personnel marched through these localities to assess the ground situation and reassure residents.

DCP Appeals to Public Not to Believe Rumours

Addressing the media, DCP G. Chandra Mohan said that people should not pay attention to rumours or misinformation spreading through social media or word of mouth.

He stated that:

  • Police forces are fully deployed
  • The situation is peaceful and under control
  • There is no need for panic
  • Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours

Police Assure Safety and Peace

The Hyderabad Police said the flag march after the Purana Pul incident was a preventive step to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents. Citizens were requested to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activity.

Authorities reiterated that law and order is stable, and continuous monitoring is being carried out across the Golconda Zone and surrounding areas.
