Revanth Reddy Resigns as MP; Uttam and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Set to Step Down
TPCC president Revanth Reddy, who represents Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, resigned from his MP post on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: TPCC president Revanth Reddy, who represents Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, resigned from his MP post on Wednesday.
Revanth Reddy has been elected from Kodangal Assembly constituency recently and has been chosen as candidate to the Chief Minister’s post. He will swear-in as the new Chief Minister of Telangana State at LB Stadium at 1.04 PM on Thursday.
Revanth Reddy, who was in New Delhi on Wednesday, submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker regarding the Membership of the Lok Sabha.
Another two Congress MPs-Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who represents Bhongir LoK Sabha constituency and Uttam Kumar Reddy, who represents Nalgonda LoK Sabha constituency, also contested in the recently held Assembly elections and they were elected as MLAs.
Uttam Kumar Reddy seems to have resigned from his MP post on Tuesday. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is also planning to submit his resignation letter to Lok Sabha Speaker.
With the term of current Lok Sabha coming to an end within four months, there will be no chance of holding the by-elections to the vacant seats.
On the other hand, three BJP MPs from Telangana- Bandi Sanjay, Dharmapuri Arvind and Soyam Bapurao also contested in the recently held Assembly elections, but they were defeated. They continue as MPs till the completion of their term, which will end in April, 2024.
