SCR swiftly restores Charminar Express train movement after derailment
Six passengers sustained injuries in the mishap, and they received immediate medical assistance at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, a SCR statement said.
Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident on Wednesday, Train No.12759 Tambaram – Hyderabad Charminar Express experienced a derailment at Hyderabad station, with three coaches, namely S2, S3, and S6, affected as the train rolled onto Platform No.5 at around 0845 hours.
Six passengers sustained injuries in the mishap, and they received immediate medical assistance at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, a SCR statement said.
Upon receiving the information, a dedicated team of railway officials, led by Shri Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR, promptly initiated relief and restoration operations. The concerned branches’ officials and staff quickly undertook restoration works, successfully re-railing the affected coaches and subsequently clearing them for examination.
The impacted track was swiftly restored to facilitate regular train movements, ensuring minimal disruption to station operations. Other trains at the station continued their operations without any significant delays. The return journey of the affected train, Train No. 12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram Charminar Express, commenced as per its scheduled time.
A statutory inquiry into the incident will be conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle, to ascertain the causes and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
